Watermelon Margaritas

When your brother-in-law is a watermelon farmer, you get inspired to try different watermelon recipes out. With the 4th of July just around the corner and watermelon season in full swing, it only makes sense to make  watermelon margaritas! This recipe is simple, sweet, and it will leave you feeling refreshed on these hot summer days!

Ingredients:

1/4 cup white sugar

1/2 cup water

2 cups cubed and seeded watermelon

2/4 cup white tequila

1/4 cup lime juice

Salt or sugar for rimming

Directions: 

  1. Bring the 1/4 cup of sugar and 1/2 a cup of water to a boil to create a simple syrup. Once the sugar has fully dissolved, set aside and let cool.
  2. Place the watermelon in a blender or food processor until pureed.
  3. Stir the watermelon, tequila, lime juice, and cooled simple syrup mix in a pitcher.
  4. Rub the edges of your margarita glasses with a lime and dip them in sugar or salt.
  5. Pour over ice and enjoy!
